Spring 2020 Cross Cultural Study

20 students completed cross cultural study in Guatemala and Colombia and WCSC during the spring 2020 semester. Each semester program includes 15 semester hours of credit taken as five (3 SH) courses. The experience integrates course content through analysis and experiential learning. Semester programs include locations abroad and in Washington, D.C at our Washington Community Scholars' Center (WCSC). EMU's unique requirement for cross cultural learning provides students with the ability to learn about themselves, another culture or country, and gain experiences that they would not get anywhere else.

Students complete cross cultural study

31 students completed cross cultural study in Vienna & Europe and WCSC during the 2019 fall semester. Each semester program includes 15 semester hours of credit taken as five (3 SH) courses. The experience integrates course content through analysis and experiential learning. Semester programs include locations abroad and in Washington, D.C at our Washington Community Scholars' Center (WCSC). Cross-cultural study has been a part of EMU core curriculum for over 30 years. Faculty have introduced students to cultural learning through educational travel in more than 80 locations around the globe.

Spring 2019 Cross Cultural Study

56 students completed cross cultural study in a variety of locations including Guatemala and Mexico, the Middle East, and WCSC during the spring 2019 semester. Each semester program includes 15 semester hours of credit taken as five (3 SH) courses. The experience integrates course content through analysis and experiential learning. Semester programs include locations abroad and in Washington, D.C at our Washington Community Scholars' Center (WCSC). EMU's unique requirement for cross cultural learning provides students with the ability to learn about themselves, another culture or country, and gain experiences that they would not get anywhere else.

Summer 2019 Cross Cultural Study

91 students completed cross cultural study in a variety of locations including the Local Context, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Washington Community Scholars Center, and Washington DC. The summer cross cultural program consists of three or six week programs in North America or abroad or a full summer experience at our WCSC with an internship in a Washington, D.C. organization. EMU's unique requirement for cross cultural learning provides students with the ability to learn about themselves, another culture or country, and gain experiences that they would not get anywhere else.

Eight students this fall are exploring life in Washington D.C. and gaining experience through internships in fields ranging from music therapy to journalism to immigration law as part of studies at Eastern Mennonite University's Washington Community Scholars' Center (WCSC).
